In the afternoon, Chee Meng, Sean and I went to Mid Valley Mega Mall. Only the cinema there sell the tickets for 200 Pounds Beauty. We watched the trailer before this. It seems funny and interesting. That's why we wanted to watch this show so much.
Here it is 200 Pounds Beauty synopsis:
"Hanna (Kim Ah-Joong) is a lip sync vocalist for Ammy, the famous Korean pop singer. Though Hanna is always ignored due to her appearance, she has always been a bright and happy girl until Ammy humiliated her in front of Sang-jun, the one she secretly admired. She wants to commit suicide but she failed. Finally, she made a life-changing decision: to have a major cosmetic surgery. With this move, she hopes that both - her love (Sang-Jun) and dream as a singer to be returned!"
As I mention just now, this movie is pretty funny especially when Hanna (Kim Ah-Joong) is fat. She is always very "lun jun" (Cantonese) and did a lot of stupid stuffs. The whole cinema laugh like mad and meanwhile some even clap their hands and. The way that the guys react after seeing and obsessed by her beautifulness also very "kua jiong".
After Hanna went for the whole body cosmetic surgery, she was known as Jenny - (public thought that she is) a 'natural' beauty women and later become a popular female singer in Korea. She denies her old identity as Hanna who was a fatty and ugly women. Of course, she totally understand how difficult and sad does an ugly person feels when he/she can't his/her love to the admirer because he/she always got rejected. But Jenny's beauty starts to build too much of confident in her which leads her to lost her friend (who is quite plum) and her daddy (who is under psychiatric treatment).
Unfortunately, her real identity has been revealed by the back steAmmy. This is where the touching part begins. She started to realize that the relationships with her best friend and daddy are more important. She also feels regret to cheat all her fans on her true identity. She confesses her fraud in front of her fans during her first concert. She pours out all her feelings and difficulties when she was fat and ugly; when she went through the surgery; when she can't tell Sang Jun that she loves him, and; when all the people in the world ignore and make fun of the ugly appearance and starting to chase after sexy bodies and beauty. Her words are so meaningful and touching until most of the audiences cried. I think Chee Meng cried too. Actually I thought he won't. Last words for this movie, GREAT SHOW!
